Weekly Prompt “lip” #SoCS

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “lip.” Use it as a word, or find a word with “lip”in it. As always, use any way you’d like. Enjoy!

I came up with several perfectly good words, flip, slip, and blip but the best fit for me is lip! One reason is, I usually aggravate my husband with plenty of lip about the long to-do list. I like to think my post are giving lip because they are honest regardless if someone gets their feelings hurt. My mother would say I starting giving her lip the minute I learned to talk.  M

Here are the rules for SoCS:
1. Your post must be stream of consciousness writing, meaning no editing, (typos can be fixed) and minimal planning on what you’re going to write.
2. Your post can be as long or as short as you want it to be. One sentence – one thousand words. Fact, fiction, poetry – it doesn’t matter. Just let the words carry you along until you’re ready to stop.
3. There will be a prompt every week. I will post the prompt here on my blog on Friday, along with a reminder for you to join in. The prompt will be one random thing, but it will not be a subject. For instance, I will not say “Write about dogs”; the prompt will be more like, “Make your first sentence a question,” “Begin with the word ‘The’,” or simply a single word to get your started.
4. Ping back! It’s important, so that I and other people can come and read your post! For example, in your post you can write “This post is part of SoCS:” and then copy and paste the URL found in your address bar at the top of this post into yours. Your link will show up in my comments for everyone to see. The most recent pingbacks will be found at the top. NOTE: Pingbacks only work from WordPress sites. If you’re self-hosted or are participating from another host, such as Blogger, please leave a link to your post in the comments below.
5. Read at least one other person’s blog who has linked back their post. Even better, read everyone’s! If you’re the first person to link back, you can check back later, or go to the previous week, by following my category, “Stream of Consciousness Saturday,” which you’ll find right below the “Like” button on my post.
6. Copy and paste the rules (if you’d like to) in your post. The more people who join in, the more new bloggers you’ll meet and the bigger your community will get!
7. As a suggestion, tag your post “SoCS” and/or “#SoCS” for more exposure and more views.
8. Have fun!

    1. I was much more feisty before getting sick but I’m getting stronger and my world will open up again. I’m hoping there is only one tumor, it’s a two-week recuperation, not bad. When is your husband starting his woodworking career? My husband has an office full of tables knives just about everything. We have a separate office so it’s fine with me. You may have basements up there, I’m not sure if so that’s a great place to set-up. It can get so dirty with wood chips and sawdust. Have a great Sunday! 🙂

      1. David is retiring in June and has already rented a part of a warehouse type space with a small office for my art. Not many basements here on the Caroline coast because we’re so close to the water. When is your procedure? I’ll be praying for you. ❤

        1. I see the surgeon on Tuesday and will know more then. If it’s a tumor on my Parathyroid it’s very different than a tumor in my throat. I have a strong history of throat cancer so I’m glad my doctor caught whatever is the problem. I have a nodule on all four Parathyroids and on my Thyroid but some a small and are watch and see. There is a large one, the one in question. By Tuesday afternoon I’ll have a better idea. I’m lucky to get a referral to one of the best Endocrine Surgeons in the area. I’m not concerned, ready to move on. I’m so positive about life right now nothing is going to slow me down. Have an awesome Sunday. Thanks for the prayers, I’ll take all I can get. Hugs. 🙂
