Ten Things You May Not Know About Me

My Bucket List includes seeing the world. I made that goal at age thirteen before I had traveled out of the United States.

At twelve years old I wanted to be a Photo Journalist for Life Magazine.

I love vintage cars and motorcycles. I will own a 1963 Corvette someday, that’s the year I was born and is the best body style they made. I owned a Harley Davidson at one time and love the open road. Nothing relieves stress like riding a motorcycle.

I collect old cameras and also have a 1970’s video camera. One of the oldest and favorite cameras is a Zeca Sport with a Stelo Lens from the 1930s.

A favorite saying is “She believed she could so she did”.

I love wood, especially when the raw part of the wood is revealed. I have multiple wood boxes, letters, sculptures, and vases.

Art is my passion. I love buying art while traveling, it keeps the memories alive once you’re home. I have an art site www.fortheloveofart.blog, check me out.

If I went back to school my focus would be Psychology or Law.

There are wind chimes all around the outside of my house. The sound they make when I least expect it is wonderful.

I make a killer Red Sauce including Cento tomatoes, fresh garlic, basil, and anchovies.

What is something I don’t know about you?

Melinda

  1. How lovely to find out more about you πŸ™‚ My dad was a carpenter and over the years he’s made us all lovely gifts like personalised chopping boards (we all love cooking), personalised signposts for weddings, etc. but my favourite of all is the 1″ wooden heart keyring that he made for us all – I get to see it every single day when I lock up πŸ™‚ So, we share a love of wood.

I also love being outdoors πŸ™‚

  2. When I was a kid I dreamed of being an artist.
I love being outdoors – but only during the day because I’m afraid of being eaten by a bear or a mountain lion at night. 😳 I love the grueling effort of hiking to the top of a mountain and then enjoying the amazing reward of the view from the top.

    1. Sounds like we both love the great outdoors, and I don’t want to be eaten by a bear or mountain lion. Actually, I’m more afraid of mountain lions than bears. You are an artist so your dreams/goals can true. Thanks for sharing, I love hearing from people and learning more about you. Have a great weekend.

  3. I love hiking in the mountains (fed by living in Scotland, Norway and now the Rockies in Canada). I would spend most of my time hiking – and photographing the amazing scenery – if I could!!!

    1. Sounds like we like the same when it comes to mother nature. I haven’t been to Canada but it’s on my list. i would love to see the Carabu migrate. There are many places to see in Canada and it’s strange I haven’t been. What did you do in Norway? I want to go there! The people is what I call “the cold countries” seem so friendly. I pick up a more laid back vibe about life there. Thaks for commenting, glad to know something about you. πŸ™‚

      1. My husband had a 2 year contract there. We spent so much time in the outdoors, and travelled the whole of Scandanavia. It’s a beautiful country. The way of life is relaxing and balanced. I loved it πŸ™‚

  4. I used to want to be an archaeologist as a child. My dream car was a 1967 corvette! Red of course 😊. I’ve always wanted a Harley, you must have had some fabulous road trips on the bike!

    1. The body of the 1963-1967 Corvette is the same. Love the side fins! Archaeologists would be another field I would love to have gone into. I love watching that type of show on tv. I can see you as an Archaeologist because you unearth things all the time. And you find great stories to go with the creations. So glad you commented. Have a great day.
