I have to sleep on the side of the bed closest to the door.
Always take a seat that backs up to a wall.
I eat a fruit smoothie for lunch every day seven days a week. I wore out my last blender.
All the clocks but one are set 15 minutes ahead of time. I’ve done this since I was a teen.
I’m addicted to following the British Royal family.
I only speak English but know words in several languages. Have studied Spanish, French, and Russian to no avail.
It’s time to lighten things up a bit! Tell me something quirky about yourself.

Melinda

I need to fill the dishwasher a certain way, it drives my husband nuts. I have to check the doors and taps and locks at least twice before I can leave the house .💜

I understand the dishwasher thing completely! Have a great weekend.

By the way, I was attacked by a tarantula recently. That picture you have at the top of this post is CREEPY! 😀

I think I remember reading about your tarantula incident in a post. I love them but they are the only spider I like. I caught one when I was in 3rd grade in a glass jar and took it home. It didn’t go over very well. They would scare me if in the jungle.

I like your quirky things. 🙂
As for my quirky things… well, I was a germaphobe long before the pandemic. Thanks to my perpetual germ fighting preparedness, I still haven’t run out of hand sanitizer. I probably have enough to last at least another year. I still have some Lysol spray left too, though not as much.
Hmm, what else.. we have a tree in our backyard that looks like it is dying. I have been hugging the tree and praying for it to revive. Weird, I know. But I really love that tree. The birds love it, too.I
I’m sure I have more quirky things, but to me they are normal. Like the way I’m writing my memoir. I do some of my best writing while pacing around the house, tapping my thoughts into my Kindle Fire notepad with one finger.
Thanks for this post, Melinda. It was fun!

That’s the thing….quirky to others is really normal to us. Hugging the tree I get but it’s crazy! Walking around while typing sounds like a hard way to write but I get the walking around part. I was a germaphobe before as well. We’ve been saving the containers of wipes so when/if we run out we can make our own. Take care! God Bless.

I remember reading an article in the Reader’s Digest magazine, way back when I was a kid, about a scientific study that was done to determine if plants have feelings. The study concluded that plants definitely do have feelings, despite the fact that they don’t have a brain and a nervous system like ours. Because of this, I don’t think it’s crazy at all to hug a dying tree. 🙂

A fruit smoothie every day for lunch makes sense. There’s comfort in consistency. David and I have oatmeal with banana, apple, and walnuts every morning for breakfast. He makes it cause he’s the morning person. Occasionally we add peaches in season. We are looking forward to pomegranates coming out every year to add to our oatmeal. I’m very excited about it being almost pomegranate season! I can’t imagine having anything else for breakfast but oatmeal. If I wanted pancakes, I’d have them for lunch or dinner. Also sleeping on the side near the door makes perfect sense for me bc I don’t have to go so far to get to the bathroom. Another of my quirks: I LOVE Star Trek and Lord of the Rings/Hobbit movies almost like an addiction. I could go on, but that’s plenty for now. Thanks for sharing your quirks. 🙂

I think quirks make us interesting. I have to be near the bathroom and the door in case of an emergency. I love pancakes for dinner. Haven’t had them in years but love them. Oatmeal is what my husband, David eats every morning. He hates walnuts though. I love pomegranates but they are so much work. I take it you have a pomegranate tree. The Star Trek thing is not for me but I understand tv show addiction. I was addicted to Melrose Place when I was younger, such a crazy show now but then it seemed so normal. Now I would never turn it on. Thanks for sharing.

We don’t have a pomegranate tree, but I’ve been wanting one for years. Maybe some day…. The good pomegranates don’t usually show up in the grocery store til early November and through the winter. We can sometimes find them other times, but they’re very small, shriveled and expensive. The seeds seem to have rooms or cells. My David keeps the pom in the frig and just takes off chunks of seeds each morning.
