How to relieve tension naturally, put down the ibuprofen — Guest Blogger Diving Deep

When our bodies are holding tension even the simplest tasks seem hard because of the heaviness. I believe we are not meant to live day to day with tension. I watched my parents numb themselves with alcohol most of my life and when I got older I saw myself leaning on numbing the pain. For […]

Why Is Beauty So Expensive?

According to a SkinStore.com survey, 85% of American women never leave the house without using at least 16 facial care and beauty products. The survey established that every day, women wearing on average $8 worths of skincare and beauty products. This may not seem like much, but during your lifetime, you are likely to spend up to $300,000 on beauty products.

Why is the beauty industry so expensive? Indeed, while we are willing to look after our skin and hair, most of us would think twice if they considered their beauty budget as a whole. Does it have to be so costly?

The beauty and personal care market is constantly growing and evolving. The trends of today may not be relevant anymore by tomorrow. Besides, diving into the Personal Care Industry market could highlight some interesting findings. Perhaps, other buyers have identified new wonder products that could be more effective than your routine buys. Alternatively, this is also a great way of understanding how to balance beauty services and products, and where you should spend your money for the best results.

Why are you willing to pay a lot of money for a product you haven’t yet tried? Businesses in this market know how to make their products sound appealing to their audience groups. For instance, a lot of customers are willing to pay more for products that promise to tackle their insecurities. Hair loss products, for example, can cost several hundreds of $, while you could get positive results without breaking the bank. The belief that expensive is better is engraved in our brains. We put a high price on our insecurities, whether it is bad skin or hair loss, based on how they make us feel. Therefore, we want to pay a lot of money for products whose price tag reflects our heightened emotional state.

Science can play a huge role in the beauty market. However, science doesn’t mean you need to buy products that have been specifically designed in labs to obtain positive results. Science is about understanding which ingredients work for you. Therefore, basic beauty knowledge could dramatically transform our routines and beauty budget. You’ve got a lot of natural ingredients in your kitchen that can replace some of your most expensive products without sacrificing results. Raspberries and coconut oil combined can help brighten up your lips and nourish the skin. Comparatively, it is a cheap but effective alternative to chemical treatments.

Everyone wants a personal care routine that makes us feel good. But that doesn’t mean you should confuse the luxury feel of me-time without your product price tag. Beauty is about self-care. Expensive products are not always more effective. Giving your mind the time it needs to unwind can help reduce stress levels and alleviate signs of stress, aka dull complexion, pimples, wrinkles, etc.

In conclusion, while some products are expensive to reflect on the difficulty to find or process some ingredients, there’s no need for the beauty industry to create a hole in your budget. More often than not, we are willing to pay more because we lack knowledge of the trends or the best natural ingredients. The more insecure we feel, the more we are ready to spend money to make our fears disappear. This has to stop! Feeling good in your skin shouldn’t break the bank.

Review Of Aromalief Spearmint Hemp Pain Relief Cream

I was gifted a tube of Aromalief’s Spearmint scent Soothing Hemp Pain Relief Cream for an honest review. As many of you know I am in love with Aromaliefs’ Lavender scent, it’s part of my nightly bedtime routine.

This post contains affiliate links that may make me a commission if you use them but they don’t cost you extra and it helps fund my Starbucks habit.

The package from Aromalief couldn’t have come at a better time. I used the cream right away on my hands which were in so much pain after two days of writing and surfing.

The first thing I notice is the scent is very light, you can barely smell the Spearmint and it has no menthol smell at all. The cream soaks in quickly, after a few shorts minutes I opened a door without any oily residue.

A short time later I felt relief in my right hand which is my main trackpad hand. The pad on my palm was hurting and the pain did dissipate. I made sure to rub it down on my wrist since it was hurting from too much late-night surfing. My soreness did lighten up, I didn’t feel as strained.

It’s 97% natural with ingredients like Sweet Almond Oil, Salvia Seed Oil, Cannabis, Spearmint Leaf Oil, and no THC.

Best of all it’s Bunny Certified!

I give Aromalief Spearmint Soothing Hemp Pain Relief cream a big thumbs up! And they are having an awesome Labor Day Special.

Pink Peony Sugar Scrub Recipe

This Pink Peony Sugar Scrub leaves skin feeling soft and smooth. Skin-loving cranberry butter and champagne extract are whipped together with Foaming Bath Butter to create a smooth base for the sugar. Foaming Bath Butter lathers with water, so the scrub washes off the skin without an oily residue. To use, apply the scrub to wet skin, gently rub in circular motions, and wash away.

A touch of Hot Pink Mica gives the scrub a lovely pink color. It’s made with Pink Peony Fragrance Oil from Bramble Berry’s Soirée Collection. The fragrance is a modern floral mix of lemon, rhododendron, honey, peony, and white musk.

Let’s Talk About Women’s Hair Loss Summer Update

When I started writing the original posts Let’s Talk About Hair Loss, I had no idea the changes my hair would take.

Eight months ago I started using Minoxidil 2% on the areas I felt had the most hair loss twice a day to encourage growth. I think six months is the magic number before you start to see real results. It works by shedding old hair and making room for new hair to grow. It took about three months to start to see a difference in the amount of hair loss but now I’m losing much less than when I wrote this last post. I’m beyond surprised by this last photo when I compare them side by side below.

July 27, 2020
June 2021

My scalp was very dry and had developed flakes on one side of my head. I read that extra sebum build-up on the scalp can cause hair loss. After changing brands several times, I’m very happy with Nioxin Scalp Recovery. I sometimes use the Nioxin Soothing Serum and the difference in irritation is noticeable. The shampoo and conditioner leave my scalp clean and my hair nice and shiny. Previous conditioners weighed my hair down and made it feel oily from day one.

I started taking Biotin around the same time so it’s hard to say how much hair growth can be contributing to Biotin. I read multiple articles while researching the previous posts and reviews on the Internet and Amazon are very positive.

Hair Growth

One of the most exciting discoveries is Castor Oil will make your brows and lashes grow. I purchased a bottle in December of 2020 for $11.99 and the results are so shocking. I put on mascara the other day just to see how long they had grown. I looked like I had false eyelashes, it felt like WOW. I even bought a new brow brush with lash gel, which feels weird, I’m still getting used to seeing my thin and faded out brows transformed. The bottle of Castor Oil came with one mascara wand and a liner container.

I use the mascara wand with the oil on my eyebrows and lowers lids. The liner is used for the upper eyelid and lower lid if you like. I found using the liner puts too much oil on the bottom lids. I have a routine of putting it on two or three times a day, I put heavy amounts on my brows and a small amount on lower lids and use the liner to put on lashes at night. The oil does get on your pillowcase.

I’m am so shocked! I looked at products claiming hair growth that ranged in price from $30 to over $200. A bottle of Organic Castor Oil will last a year for $12.00. My lower lids are much longer than I could have expected and my brows have grown slightly darker and filled in a few areas that were missing hair. I’m addicted. It’s one of the best beauty finds to date.

Castor Oil has many uses including a hair massage or for dry scalp, great on dry skin, and cuticles, and you can ingest it as a laxative, according to my granny.

Products I Go To Ease My Fibromyalgia

With May being Fibromyalgia Awareness Month I wanted to share some of the products I go to for relief to make life easier. I’ve reviewed several of the products and will include the links to the posts.

This post contains affiliate links that earn me a small commission when used that don’t cost you extra and help to fund my coffee habit.

Aromalief

Aromalief is a calming pain reliever, it has 1000mg of Hemp with no THC. It’s bunny certified and all-natural. I love the Lavender and Orange Ginger scents and they have other scents. The Orange Ginger is great for daytime use. I use the Lavender at night, it has a light lavender/menthol scent and it’s very relaxing. I have neuropathy in my feet, legs, and hands. Aromalief is great for relieving neuropathy, the pain in my legs from spasms, and the carpal tunnel in my right hand. I also slather on my knees and shoulders to help with arthritis and sore muscles. Here’s a copy of my review.

Vital Field Technologies

Vital Field is based on scientific research and works in mysterious ways. There are three different energy cells; No Pain, Anit-Inflame and Resistance.

I have great success with my knee pain with the No-Pain Cell. My knee needs a total replacement and is always hurting due to bone of bone pain. There is also a great deal of inflammation surrounding the area. As mentioned in my review, I received pain relief in 20-30 minutes after putting on the No-Pain Energy Cell with the provided patches. Once I ran out of patches I used regular surgical tape and found the same results.

Vital Field is offering my readers a generous 20% discount with code 20FORMELINDA

LEEF Organics

I use many of their products and have yet to review them. The one product I rely on is R&R CDN-CBD balm. I use the balm all even my lips. My main routine is to slather a thumbnail size amount in my hand and focus on the carpal tunnel area, then rub into each hand and also focus on my cuticles. My hands feel lighter, it’s hard to explain, it’s not that all my pain is gone but it’s less. I have not had luck with CBD drops but have had great success with topicals.

What makes LEEF Organics different? The bottom line, they use a cold-press process and the finest ingredients Heat degrades and loses some of the natural properties. There is also attention paid to the soil which helps to produce a cleaner product. Their products are organic and non-GMO.

Sleepgram Bed Pillow

  • FULLY ADJUSTABLE PILLOW with LONG-FIBER – ADD or REMOVE inserts to adjust to your comfort, perfect custom made pillow each time – for all sleep positions. Allows greater ventilation than adjustable foams – Promotes proper alignment allowing deeper sleep through the night.
  • HYPOALLERGENIC AND EASY TO CARE FOR – MACHINE WASHABLE – 5 Year – it will not go flat.

I bought mine on Amazon for less than the company sales on their website. I’ve had mine for about a year and am very happy.

Essential Oil Cool Mist Diffuser

You can pick one up at most home sores or there is a huge selection at Amazon.

I love the smell of a relaxing essential oil as I relax before bedtime. The key for me is one that is quiet and easy to clean. Mine looks like Bamboo and has is several years old.

Stressless Recliner

This Scandinavian company knows how to make the furniture right and beautiful! Their pieces are investments, they will be loved around your house for years to come maybe even generations.

We have the Stressless Recliners instead of a couch. We each have the optional desk attachment and it is worth every penny! Heading towards retirement we decided we wanted recliners instead of a couch. I had already had a different model in my office so we knew the quality of the brand and how the desk attachment held up, mine’s probably 10 years old.

PlusSystemReclinerFace_500x380.jpg

Plus™-system

The headrest automatically adjusts as you recline – supporting your neck while you read, watch TV, and rest. Activate the sleep function with one simple movement to lay the headrest flat. You also get anatomically correct lumbar support in all positions.

Home Chef

We’ve been buying three meals a week for Home Chef for a little over a year. It was a little trial and error at first but once I figured out to pick the best meals we have been super happy. Last week, we had three of the best meals yet. They come to you fresh, some of the prep is already done and other items like garlic and tomatoes you have to prepare yourself. We get the tacos and flatbreads very often, the recipes are great and they require little prep and taste great.

You can purchase more meals per week but three is the minimum. They have a good selection from very easy to make to medium prep, this is where we have found the most satisfaction and then they have grilling options.

My life is so much easier since we started with the meal delivery service. Home Chef is rated one of the top two on most list I’ve seen and I would agree. I have been able to participate in cooking dinner much more often and the choices I pick are healthy which is a bonus,

What products do you use to help with your pain or Fibromyalgia?
