Highway to Hell Part Three

At five years old I loved my baton and was quite good, until the day I got mad at my mother and bashed several holes in my closet door. There went the baton and the dream. No anger issues here! A large group of friends and I would tube down the Nacogdoches River. It’s a 6-8 hour trip if you do the full stretch. There is […]

I’m staying positive by saying better now than later yet know there are other surgeries in the future. Recovering from surgeries caused from misadventures with Lyme and resisting a cane. Throw Back Thursday: Triple Shot *Queen Anthems of my younger self*

I spent a year in bad girl boarding school, many of us tried to dig out anyway possible. To dig out of our trauma, we wouldn’t let our scars get in the way. We wanted a different life, a new positive perspective. I was 13-14 years old some girls close to 17-19 years old. Most every one starts as the new kid in town, I don’t play that game. Everything works fine when you hold the cards.I never had my ass kicked and only hurt one person. She gave my best friend the razor blade, I got the nod from staff person and I beat her badly. I never ran away, never help anyone to leave, and no way did I help someone kill themselves. Enough pleasantries. I’ve come along way since the punk kid. Freddie created Rock Drama and had a wicked sense of humor. Let’s sing for Freddie, if you dress up for the show, you get extra credit, send me a photo and there’s no telling the extra perks you get. Freddie was a true showman.  Xx  M

I Think Of You Every Second

I’m grieving a life, a life taken to the sky. Why a country song hit me so hard, I don’t know. Does she like country music? The uncontrollable tears may come from God, being there for me, when the pain doesn’t end. The tears maybe the first of many. I did not ask for promises. I shared the challenges of my mental illness, praying you would not feel alone in your pain. Being real but hoping to empower, no-one can make someone change their plan, only they can. I start praying, please God take her in your arms, show her how love feels, please make her journey beyond earth the greatest years of her life. I will miss you, I’m scared, please answer my email today. My heart is bleeding, all I need is to know you’re alive. God will always have your back and never stops loving you. This rendition was updated to celebrate 50 years of Country Music Awards (CMA). Beautiful song, it’s impossible to not appreciate the talent and their voices together. I will always love you. Throw Back Thursday *The Disco Ball Is Turning*

The Disco period was great for Free Spirits, drugs flowed freely, a smell of change in the air. The music was alive, the dance floor had a rhythm like no other, leave your troubles behind and escape under the shiny ball. I hope you enjoy a couple of my favorites, if not pick up the request line and leave a request. Let’s Boogie!     Xx  M

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY 1940-1992 **A Daughters Elvis Tribute**

Original post 8/2014 Elvis Presley had a lifetime fan in my father. I remember playing his Elvis records at 4 yrs. old. Jumping on my friends pink canopy bed with hair brushes belting out Jailhouse Rock. After the divorce Daddy would visit driving to a mom & pop store, we’d get bottles of RC Cola, sitting in-car belting out to the radio. We had to drink  in the parking lot because the bottles required a deposit, after finished daddy would  take back for the deposit. I think it was a dime. My father was one of my abusers, I have few good memories, they’re cherished. I forgave my father, choose to focus on this nugget. My father was mentally ill, committing suicide in 1992. Abuse complicates grieving,  warm tears roll down as I write. Tears for my grandmothers pain and the years I didn’t have a father. He was reading the Book of Job during his last struggle, the last moments between him and God. To daddy

Throw Back Thursday * Shelton…We're having a Party*

I’m the Country Star in my head tonight, not my usual choice of music yet some I can’t get enough of. It’s a triple shot of Blake Shelton. I picked fun, blow the roof off the house music this week. Blake is one of my favorite current day singers, oh I meant drinkers. His blue eyes and big smile shows me he loves  the job. He’s like 6’6…….oh back on track. I have surgery to implant the Port to start me IV Therapy on Tuesday. When I’m scared or nervous it’s usually chocolate, cookies, cookies. Instead of chocolate, I went for Blake, He always makes me feel good. He’s down home country boy, I picture him on a john boat fishing on his land. If you don’t like the words, no problem, no country for your taste, that’s ok. This weekend is have fun letting the bobby pins out. I’ll be thinking of you and what I’m missing out on. I’ll catch up when I get back.   XO M

Throw Back Thursday (Wednesday) *Let's Get Rocked*

I hit pay dirt this week. The first two are in pre-release, I think both drop later this month.  David Gilmore doesn’t have a video. None of the bands are new, you’ve heard many of their tunes here. The last video is my Guitar Hero, Eric Clapton. He sounded great even thru one ear. I not happy with Bose right now. If the music captures you, download and get your rock on anytime. Eric caresses the strings perfectly, I lose myself  every time. Grab your beverage along with a nice assortment of cheese, bread and toppings.  I wasn’t drinking any beverages posting today, just forgot what day it was. Music is the good for you fruit. Eric Clapton doesn’t sound as perfect as liked, I could not pass up the best solo I’ve hear.    A shout out to a Dragon friend of mine.   XO Melinda

Throw Back Thursday *Dedicated to my Twin P*

Dearest Twin P You are the best twin sister I’ve never met. We have lots of good times in our future knocking out our Bucket List.   I’m so happy you’ve met a man who knows how to treat a women. Take your time, fall in like first. if you see a future and have done all the homework possible, allow yourself to see where it goes. You deserve a man to hold you at end of day. When you find the right man, the kids will let you know. You need a strong man who can love your children as his. A gentleman to teach the boys how to act towards their mother and all women. Most importantly show them love by doing things together, boys seem to learn better when they don’t know their learning.  I thought the first video was hilarious. The Bryan Adams song is an old favorite of mine. I hear the words of deep love, forever love. I hear them whispered in my ear. Just a loving word of advice in your new relationship. You are not in charge of everything, don’t make all decisions and remember staying up late to surf is not worth missing snuggle time..   XO Warrior

Throw Back Thursday *Clapton Cocaine, Zeppelin Rock & Roll*

A couple music favorites from my wild child days. By 12 years old I already lived a lifetime, the drugs probably kept me alive. Read my About Me page and you may agree. I would break a kilo of marijuana down to four finger bags in a couple of hours. Using old fashion sandwich bags, just roll and lick to seal.  My 21-year-old boyfriend was a dealer and we would sell kilo in two nights. This became our Friday ritual every two weeks. There is a long story behind how a drug addicted 12-year-old missed out playing with Barbie’s. I had Angels guiding my path.   XO Warrior

Throw Back Thursday * Santana Bending Strings…Live From Germany *

The idea for this weeks Throw Back Thursday came to me several weeks ago, I didn’t even think twice. My life overflows with sunshine everyday because of you. Every like, comment, follow, friendship, laugh, words of encouragement, allowing me into your life and above all your prayers. You have touched me deeply by allowing me to comment, knock on your door and allowing me into your life. There is not a day go by without thoughts and prayers for my WP family. My husband understands how important blogging is for me, what is hard for him is how people can touch my life without meeting. I started blogging to share my experiences with others. I didn’t have a clue where the first steps would take me. The thought of my heart expanding with joy never crossed my mind. I am thankful for so much and hope to see you often in 2015.   XO Melinda

Throw Back Thursday Triple Shot of U2 * Meaningful words will touch your heart *

I’m a huge U2 fan, Joshua Tree my first album.  The words caught my attention and who couldn’t notice the Irish accents. I watched interviews, learning they were childhood friends and belonged to choir in school. Money can change the core beliefs of people. I don’t feel U2 has strayed from their original beliefs. I was the kid who always played the B side of every single and albums, finding gems with an open mind. These three songs have more than surface meaning to me. I hope you will put aside any ideas you have of what U2 are as a band, let your mind hear the words. The music is world music. Grab the headphone, kick off the shoes and clear your head. Be ready to see another side of U2.  XO Warrior

"When I Find Love Again, I'll Be Much Better Than The Man I Used To Be" **I see in his eyes and Body Language **

Many of you know I’m a huge James Blunt fan. How many converts will sway to his new song. I love the black and white video, fit’s perfect. Men may enjoy the babes shaking it. I find the men dancing and kicking up the dust quit satisfying. James married Sofia in September, I believe his music will show a happier man. He comes from a long history of military officers and James takes pride in serving. He’s dated some of the most beautiful women. He met is match with Sofia, who comes from long line of royalty. I wish them the best.    Warrior   Let me know what you think??
