WordPress has me locked out of my laptop since yesterday.

I am not one to write a post on the phone app. We are discussing ways to solve the problem but at this point they are not satisfied with what I’ve provided.

This was difficult to write on these tiny keys yet it’s important for me to know if others are having the same or other issues.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

  1. Hey Melinda. So sorry to hear this. I work at WordPress.com. I see that this might be resolved, but I’ll reach out to you via email to make sure you’re all set.

    1. Thank you for commenting. It is fixed after 2.5 days of conversations. A couple of other bloggers are having the same issue. What it came down to for me, since the text with the log in code was not being received, WP sent a code to use to log in and a separate code to turn off the two step verify. A but crazy!

  2. I’ve been having the same problem since Friday night. I cannot log onto my page, it won’t accept my password. And when I reset my password, it won’t recognize the new one. I’ve done this 5-6 times. The only way I can read post or comment is through my email.

And forget about getting tech support. I was waiting Friday night for over 5 hours and almost all day yesterday.

          1. That’s what I was doing all day yesterday. I keep repeating myself to them and they still can’t figure out how to fix the issue. But Thank you, I will keep trying.

          2. I had to get different codes, one to let me log in since I’m not receiving text and the second code was to turn off the two step authorization. I’m finally back in. What a nightmare, WP hasn’t made me this angry in a long time. They just don’t care about bloggers because that is not where they make their money.

          3. They continue to email me and repeat the same thing over and over. They tell me, “We see you on line.” And I tell them, that’s because I connected through my email. My password won’t work and I reset it 7 times and it still won’t accept it. So I tell them this, and I tell them, it’s something at your end not mine. Then they repeat, “But we see you online!!” 😡😡😡

          4. You get sent a link to connect from your email and they send a verification code to your phone. That’s how I’ve been able to connect since Friday. it’s a hassle because I just can’t go on the site. I have to keep sending for the link to be sent to my phone.

          5. Tell them to send you a temporary code to log in and if you want to stop the two step verify they will need to give you a different code. Just don’t log out until this mess blows over. That is what they sent me today and I can now go straight to my site.

          6. Since you are having to get a text with code via phone doesn’t make sense. How did you log in before. For me, I had to turn off the two step verification which eliminated the need for a code. Not great but it’s a fix until they get the issue fixed.

          7. Before it was simply, user name and password. Now it won’t accept any password I put or change. They contacted me again last night and said to make sure I am putting in the password correctly . UGH !!! I am and I keep proving it to them by taking snap shots.

          8. Willie,
Is the reason you can’t log in simply because of your password or is it not receiving the text code? If it’s a password issue all they have to do is send you a temp password and you go in to change it. Are you saying you’ve been through the extact steps in changing the password and the changes won’t work. If it’s just the password word issue, don’t let them ask such stupid questions. Yes, you are putting the password in correctly and they. need to provide a fix to get into your account. From experience, you have to get a bit rough at times in order for the issue to get resolved. It’s crazy but with WP this type of things will continue long after we’re gone.
