I continue to search for the perfect Theme. One that reflects me and the Advocacy work I support. Β I feel this is to busy with the the three column layout and may be difficult to navigate.

Please give me feedback. I’m leaning towards the old theme or a new one. Help!

  1. Yes, the quest for the perfect template. My blog has an advocacy component to it and I haven’t found a format that works perfectly for me. It seems like there’s always something in the wrong place. I think this template work becaue it is clean so the focus is on your content. I agree, the sidebar can seem detracting – but it’s got relevant info to your blog on it and with my template all that info just goes to the bottom where few scroll all the way down so it seldom gets looked at. I think it’s crisp – if that’s what you’re looking for then you’ve got a winner.

    • Thanks for your feedback. I have the itch for a new look. My biggest question was the site to busy or to simple looking? Simple is good for me now, Lyme is kicking the crap out of me. I started day off with a hard fall falling into furniture.
      Take care

  2. M, it looks fine to me. Not sure which theme you had up that you wanted feedback for. I’m looking at the Toujours theme. It’s easy to read with lots of white space. I agree with others. Pick the theme you like and put the posts up you want to read. It’s authenticity that brings readers and as far as attracting men, wear a perfume with mandarin orange, some pumpkin spice, and a little touch of earth tones like rich oak. That’ll bring us trotting in. Not so sure that will go over well at your house – but it works. πŸ˜€

    • Hi D
Thank you for giving me feedback. I’m looking for one, when it grabs me I’ll know it’s the one. I read a great post by Casey, she went to the WordPress conference. One post was dedicated to Do You Need To Brand Your Site? I’m not going as far as Casey but want to highlight Advocacy work.
      I’m not sure it matters.

      • M, If it matters to you, it matters. Don’t chase readers, post your content that you want to post and your readers that share in your views will enjoy your content and those that don’t will keep scrolling.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on theme. The current theme you mentioned is the one I have. There are plenty of options.
The problem I can’t fix w/o WP, I’m trying to import the content of my previous site. I have trouble walking. The links sent aren’t the full content. I have trouble finding the zip file. BLAH………
        Have a great Sunday.
I had a bad fall yesterday.

      • Falls are becoming a real issue for both of us. Gotta start looking for alternative living arrangements while I’m still able to sign the papers. Next fall could be my last. Hope you aren’t trying to get around without adult supervision. That’s downright mischievous. Take care of yourself and quit diving into the floor. That stuff hurts.

      • No, my head stops working and my body thinks it’s time to go to sleep so it’s faceplant time. What’s your modus operandi?

Head not working sounds like a problem. My balance is off, more days than not. I may start walking sideways, trip on anything including a step. This past weekend I took three step and my balance gave out and down I went lunging three feet right into furniture. David had just turned his back but lucky enough to see me hit furniture.
I slept all day yesterday and most of today. Maybe some depression. You have to eat tons of Lucky Charms to get to rainbow!

      • Yes, you need adult supervision with one hand on you to keep you in the proper gravitational orientation. Love that saying about eating a ton of lucky charms to get to a rainbow. I’m going to say that every chance I get πŸ˜€

      • Have fun tossing it around. My brain took the day off. I couldn’t finish a post so now time for 150 emails.
A Report from Lyme doctor came yesterday, the worst was reading “Severe Cognitive loss.” I feel like a boat anchor is tied to both legs.
        Have a great evening.

      • That could describe our future at the home. I hope the nurses will forgive me for thinking I’m a young man and chasing them down the hallway in my walker.

      • You’re counting the days? I posted Throw Back Thursday, great jam with Steve Winwood and E.C. singing Cocaine. It brings memories to the wild child drug addicted days.I learned a few things since then. Crazy times, my boyfriend was 21 and I was 12 or 13 years old. Only a drug addict would not find it strange. At least not in America.
I have so many drafts of ideas about my hard times, guess not ready to let them go?

  3. this themeis terrific!
I’m blind, so I MUST use TTS and speech typing to navigate blogs. Some themes are not compatible with TTS but they are becoming more and more rare, thankfully. wordpress is pretty good in this regard. I’m sure this is way more info then you wanted, lol. I like your new theme! πŸ‘

    • I’m thrilled you stopped by to share feedback. I pray blindness doesn’t stop you from living a full life. If you say the site looks, I will use for now. I get boared and changing themes often can turn off followers. I’ll have to check out your site.
Hope you will stop by again.

  4. I have no idea what your former theme was, but this seems soothing and the good thing is that you can always try out new themes as the days go by and see what feels good with you. All the best.

  6. Choose a theme that can make you feel comfortable, that can make your blog fel like a home, like a second house. Make it attractive to your readers, choose colors that catch your eyes. I would recommend choosing one with a sidebar, so it lets you put widgets. Widgets are awesome, like the furniture of a house. ThatΒ΄s my advice, though this theme is pretty good πŸ™‚
