Chelsea Manning may receive Nine Years added to her 35 year sentence

URGENT PLEASE READ NEW CHARGES AGAINST CHELSEA MANNING

At this time, Chelsea Manning is not receiving adequate Psychological Counseling. Chelsea is a Trans being forced to serve out her sentence in an ALL-MALE Maximum Security Prison. Although Chelsea tries to stay focus on her writing and advocacy, being a woman in an all-male prison is dehumanizing and exhausting emotionally, according to ACLU. The post in long but worth reading, someday it could be you. The next post is short.    Outraged,  Melinda

Chelsea Manning faces new charges, indefinite solitary confinement, related to suicide attempt

U.S government has systematically abused imprisoned whistleblower, continues to deny access to gender related health care

LEAVENWORTH, KS––Imprisoned whistleblower Chelsea Manning reported to attorneys and friends that she received a document from

Army officials today informing her that she is being investigated for serious new charges related to her July 5th, 2016 attempt to take her own life. If convicted of these bizarre “administrative offenses,” she could be placed in indefinite solitary confinement for the remainder of her sentence.

Chelsea has been systematically mistreated by the U.S. government since she was first taken into custody in 2010, including long stretches of solitary confinement (which the UN considers to be a form of torture), which she was subjected to for 9 months, even before she had ever been convicted, and continuing to deny her the medical treatment she needs for her gender dysphoria, which medical experts have clearly stated is the only course of treatment in which she would no longer be suicidal.

At this time, Chelsea is not receiving adequate psychological counseling, as her course of treatment is constantly irregular and therefore less effective. Having uncertainty, from day to day, regarding what medical treatment she is even going to receive is stressful in itself, and is certainly not what someone recovering from a suicide attempt should be subjected to.

Chelsea is a trans woman being forced to serve out her sentence in an all male maximum security prison. Although Chelsea tries to stay focused on her writing and advocacy, being a woman in a all male prison is dehumanizing and exhausting emotionally. It is unnecessarily cruel to threaten her with punishment while in this very vulnerable state. We must pressure the Secretary of the Army to take a personal interest and dismiss these absurd charges against Chelsea.

US Government abusing Whistleblower Chelsea Manning, Columnist for The Guardian

Urgent Please Read, Chelsea Manning needs your help

Please read the critical information on Chelsea Manning, the Whistleblower who uncovered some of the Governments worst abuses. Chelsea is a Transgender woman being forced to serve out her sentence in an all-male prisonI have two additional post on Chelsea Manning including the Charge Sheet The Military Police Investigators. The additional charges are related to Chelsea trying to commit suicide on July 5, 2016.

The organizations Fight For The Future and ACLU are urgently working to inform the public.      Outraged,  Melinda

URGENT: The U.S. government systematically abused whistleblower Chelsea Manning until she tried to take her own life. Now they’re trying to charge her for it. Sign the petition to stop this inhumane punishment.

After years of extreme mistreatment, having been held in conditions that the UN considers to be torture, Chelsea Manning, the Guardian columnist and whistleblower who has been in prison for years serving a 35 year sentence for exposing some of the U.S. government’s worst abuses, attempted to take her own life July 5th, 2016.

Now, Army officials have informed her that she is facing serious new charges directly related to her suicide attempt.

This is an outrage. Click here to sign the petition telling the government not to charge Chelsea Manning with a crime for her own suicide attempt.

Chelsea called supporters on the phone to inform us of the new charges. They include:

1) Resisting the force cell move team (Chelsea was unconscious when this team arrived, which makes this charge particularly absurd.)

2) Prohibited property (For the items she used to attempt to take her own life.)

3) Conduct which threatens (For somehow putting the prison at risk while attempting to take her own life, quietly, in her own cell.)

If convicted of these bizarre “administrative offenses,” that are effectively charging her for attempting to end her life, she is facing indefinite solitary confinement for the rest of her prison term (another 30 years), “maximum security” classification (in the same facility), and nearly a decade before she can ever be classified as a “minimum security” prisoner.

The government has threatened Chelsea with torture like this before, but we mobilized and kept her out of solitary confinement. Now we need to do it again. Click here to sign the petition demanding that the government drop these now charges and provide her with adequate medical care.

It is unnecessarily cruel to threaten Chelsea with additional punishment while in this very vulnerable state. The government is trying to silence her important voice––for good. Chelsea has been systematically mistreated by the U.S. government since she was first taken into custody in 2010, including long stretches of extreme solitary confinement even before she had ever been convicted.

Chelsea is a transgender woman being forced to serve out her sentence in an all-male prison, which is in itself dehumanizing and exhausting emotionally. She is currently being denied medical treatment for her gender dysphoria, which experts have stated is the only course of treatment through which she would no longer be suicidal.

This is not the first time the government has harassed Chelsea with outrageous charges while in prison. Last year, they threatened her with indefinite solitary confinement for minor “infractions” including possession of LGBTQ reading materials and an expired tube of toothpaste. We gathered more than 100,000 petition signatures in response, and the outcry we generated kept her out of solitary. Now we need to do it again.

Please, click here to sign the petition, and then share and spread the word. Chelsea is depending on us. We need everyone to speak out right now.

Thanks so much, we’ll keep you posted on how Chelsea is doing.

Best,

-Evan at Fight for the Future

A shimmer of light

Eyes filled with tears

Light is closer

I’m at complete peace

God what do you want from me

I have no special skill

Is light a miracle from high above

Trapped in darkness, I hear keys

Thoughts no chains

Falling to ground weeping

Is the light a sign of better days

How can it be, you choose me

There’s no miracle God said

A reminder

You are alive

Lyme Update #16 *Lyme Winning–Me, blew a gasket and leaking oil

Let’s Talk Lyme

Last update, we talked about IV Therapy as a treatment option for Chronic Lyme Disease. IV Therapy is one type of medicine to help you heal. I also take a close to 20 prescriptions and who knows how many supplements. Insurance doesn’t pay for the IV Therapy which is quite common. To ask a question thru the patient Portal it’s $45 dollars. I blew a gasket last week and the portal is running hot. I’m blessed we have the money and see a top Lyme Doctor. I think there is a book called She’s Come Undone. I came undone and still finding parts.

Before quitting work, I was a highly successful, the top salesperson in the company. I set very high goals for myself and those who interact with clients. If I made an error I was accountable to make it right with the clients. If one of my people made a mistake, they got the eye and then I had to take responsibility.

There are several PA’s working in the office, mine is the hard ass, just the way I like it. I meet “The” PA while mine was out. I wasn’t impressed but chalked it up to being new. David and I have conference calls to see how adjusted to medicine, all the questions you wish would end. I heard my PA was not available for two weeks so we are meeting with the PA another PA. I am meticulous about my health care, I would reschedule before going to a fill in. I kept saying I’m not talking to her. She was reading questionnaire and David was answering. She said Melinda how are you feeling, ” ok except I almost split my head open. The knot was 5-6 inches big and it really hurt. ” Oh, that sounds like it hurt. My firecracker was lit and would blow any minute. In addition to passing over hitting my head on concrete, she said the IV that was on backorder was in and she would a one week protocol. After the one week, I am off IV’s and take ton o meds. She even indicated we might be able to coordinate to have my port removed.

IMG_1702

A couple of hours later I’m putting my medicine for the week. Right away I notice two drugs on the schedule I don’t take. I became a complete baby and ass. I refused to take my IV’s or other meds last week. We’ve dipped into retirement money to save my life. I don’t think I expect to much from the office. First she would have seen none of my Psychiatric medicines are manages my the Lyme Doctor. The had written at bottom to continue to take two Xanax at bedtime. RED FLAG. If an IV medicine has been out of stock for months, I would as the person in charge if any where delivered. RED FLAG. My head still has a painful bump and on going headaches. So, nothing they can do. RED FLAG. She wrote the new oral prescriptions and changed to date to travel to their office instead of later.

The point other than the rant is if you are not feeling right, stop and have them start at beginning. If you’re dealing with another person instead of you normal person. Slam the breaks. I was so worked up, the chest pains started. I decided I would wait until morning to write the $45 letter to my PA

Chronic Lyme Disease is not a common cold or chicken pox, people die from Lyme. I didn’t want to add to the stats. I’m not suggesting you blow a fuse. If you are not getting the treatment expected or information is not shared with you, you have no clue when they think you’ll get well. Get a new doctor and maybe scream.

There are many details to manage everyday. If I can keep track with only 30-40% cognitive ability, what’s their excuse?

I still owe you a story about TSA checking my body parts for the world to see. Be prepare if you flew in/out Reagan National.

I’m always open for questions, you’re not bothering me and I’m glad to help.

:)

I want all WP friends to join me for a large celebration, party hats, clowns, kazoos, dancing Queen

I celebrate my 7th year blogging anniversary and turn 53 in four days. Neither occasion are important on their own. What make this year so special is I’m alive. So many of you prayed , sent well wishes yet never treated me different.

I started my first blog to help grieve my granny’s death. Flash forward, I’m blessed learning other cultures around the world. Blogging with millions of people at WP there are opportunities to learn, share and clarify the misunderstood. The most important lesson learned is people are generally good.

I’m free to write my thoughts, some will not agree, others will not. We need different perspectives to broaden our mind.

Thank you for making every year a good one. I appreciate the kind thoughts, asking how I’m doing and treating me normal. I hope to see you in the years to come.

Twenty Minutes of Rape

Twenty Minutes of Rape
June 22, 2016

“I so admire this woman, who had the guts to expose what she is going through and share it with the world.”

Representative Cheri Bustos (D-IL) offered these thoughts on a night when a bipartisan group of 18 members of Congress stood in solidarity, each reading parts of a victim impact statement written by the survivor of a brutal sexual assault that occurred on Stanford University’s campus in 2014. The story has resonated around the world.

In March of 2016, 20-year-old Brock Turner was convicted of three felony counts: sexually penetrating an unconscious person with a foreign object; sexually penetrating an intoxicated person with a foreign object; and assault with an intent to commit rape.

Despite the finding of guilt and the brutal details of the crime—which involved a college party, an incapacitated and unconscious victim, and bystanders intervening when they discovered the victim behind a dumpster not far from campus—Judge Aaron Perksy decided to impose a sentence of only six months. This sentence was far less than the six years recommended by prosecutors, and only one-quarter of the normal two-year minimum sentence. Persky avoided minimum sentence by finding that “unusual circumstances” existed.

The short sentence shocked many, as did a statement written by the perpetrator’s father defending his son’s “20 minutes of action.”

Bringing national attention to the case, CNN anchor Ashleigh Banfield spent more than an hour reading the survivor’s full statement on air. The survivor’s eloquence and emotion, led the story to be carried by media worldwide.

Former Judge Representative Ted Poe (R-TX) spoke to fellow members of Congress about the case. “Mr. Speaker,” Rep. Poe said, “I was a criminal court judge and prosecutor for 30 years, this judge got it wrong.” Poe, who as co-founder of the Congressional Victims’ Rights Caucus has led efforts to protect and support victims of sexual violence, continued: “As a country, we must change our mentality and make sure that our young people recognize sexual assault and rape for the heinous crimes that they are… As a grandfather, I want to know that my granddaughters are growing up in a society that has zero tolerance for this crime.”

Rep. Jackie Speier (D-CA) led a one-hour “special order” on the floor of those of Representatives, during which members of Congress took turns reading the survivor’s statement. “People must understand rape is one of the most violent crimes a person can commit,” said Speier.

“This event, which was bipartisan and included both men and women, was unprecedented and demonstrates a rising awareness about these crimes and their devastating impact on survivors,” said Rebecca O’Connor,

RAINN’s vice president for public policy. “This case focuses the national spotlight on ongoing challenges and the continued need to teach the difference between criminal acts and ‘20 minutes of action’; the need to support survivors when they bravely come forward and pursue justice against the odds; and the need to get to a place where rapists receive punishment that fits the crime.”

In her statement, the survivor spoke to not only to the crimes themselves, but what happened after: “He is a lifetime sex registrant. That doesn’t expire. Just like what he did to me doesn’t expire, doesn’t just go away after a set number of years. It stays with me, it’s part of my identity, it has forever changed the way I carry myself, the way I live the rest of my life.”

#ActWithRAINN to support survivors and join the fight against sexual violence.

The Judge set a six month jail term when the minimum for the crime is two years. The message sent by the Judge is Sexual Assault is not a traumatic illegal crime. She was violated twice with a foreign object, for which he received two felonies, third for the intent to rape. Can you think of someone you love, a son or daughter dealing with life changing trauma.

Brock’s father read a statement in his sons defense “20 minutes of action” RAPE IS RAPE. RAPE DOESN’T HAVE A MINIMUM TIME TO QUALIFY,  RAPE IS RAPE IF 20 MINUTES OR TWO HOURS. I want to throw up.

Action, Change and Punishment is essential. Another drunk 20-year-old frat party will go on. Who knows how the rapist will up the thrill as he ages.

She and others who make their voices heard are my heroes.

Lyme: Falling Hazards for the Fearless.

Growing up with four bothers, I was a fearless tomboy. At 12 years old I was crowned with braces. After a few pops in the mouth my football career was over. Good childhood memories.

Chronic Lyme Diseases affects everyone different, my parasites settled  into my brain. The first sign was the lack of balance. Think about the walk taken after getting pulling over for intoxication. I could take 2-3 steps at most with eyes closed. I have continued to have balance and common sense my husband would say.

The clouds mingled as a storm moved in.Vibrant orange, pinks and every shade of blue. While he walked the dogs, I stood on the hot tub taking photos.

Hours after the rain, I noticed a large earthworm on the storm door. My mission was to save the earthworm. If I bend below the knees, I’m going down.

I diligently dug a hole in the dirt with one knee holding me up.David came running outside just in time for a glorious Circus tryout.. I fell down two bricks stairs, grabbing a landscape light on the way down it stabs me in the stomach. Then a loud crack as my head hit a stone brick. I was stunned and wanted to cry. No time for crying, he is yelling to see if conscious while trying to maneuver me from under patio table. It was time for me to sit and find my legs and damage done by light. He is pulling me up, legs behind me which makes it difficult to stand and do less damage. My head swirled and standing up was the last thing on mind. David rushed me in like a RN working ICU to examine my head. You can see what you think.

A draft of the Lyme Update is almost complete. I will share a TSA shack down story and tips for maneuvering thru security.

Fly’s and Mosquitos also carry Lyme. Be safe this summer.
