Before we start celebrating, let’s talk about drinking and driving. Plan your drive home if you like to drink a few extra. It’s a terrible thought of hurting yourself or others, let alone kill someone. It’s a mistake that could haunt you for the rest of your life.
I want to see you alive!

Let’s celebrate!!!!!!! 2023 has arrived for some and others are waiting to see what the New Year brings. The start of a new year is a great time to reflect on the past and reset your compass for success in the new year.
I will be enjoying a very low-key evening with some good eats and tucked in to sleep long before midnight.
See you next year, here’s to you!
Melinda
Thank you for encouraging people to be responsible and not drink and drive. My sister was killed by a drunk driver when she was sixteen. I’m thankful to have outgrown the desire to celebrate with alcohol. Best wishes in this bright new year of hope!

Sorry to hear bout your sister. This happens way too often. I did it many times myself, and I thank God that nothing happened. I quit drinking about 15 years ago and have no desire to party. those days are past for me. 🙂

I’m thankful those days are behind me, too.

Happy New Year! Did you stay up for the festivities? I was in bed by 8:30. Saw nothing but that’s ok, I’ve seen plenty. Do you have a date for your surgery or is it to get in line and we’ll get to you in six months? I know a woman who is struggling and lives in the UK. She has a serious mental illness and her Therapy sessions end Wednesday. She is devastated and very fragile right now, she’s having to wait 6-8 months for another Therapist. I don’t know what she’s going to do, trying to bolster her spirits have not worked. Who knows if she’ll make it that long. I don’t understand how they think the system is working and why isn’t the government doing anything? Probably the worst thing going on at a big level is doctors taking people with chronic pain off their pain meds. One woman last took her life after being told she could no longer have pain meds, no withdrawal plan, nothing. That happened to me but I know to save some meds so you can withdraw safely if caught off guard. I’ve been down that road. I hope you are well. We took down the tree today and put all the decorations up so now I’m ready for a late lunch. Stay safe.

You’re very organised having down tree-take-down already. I can’t bear the thought of it. So much effort for so little time, but I guess that’s Christmas 😂
I get what you’re saying with the UK healthcare system. It’s one thing that is making me utterly livid continually. I feel so wound up and twisted about it and it feels like there’s nothing we can do because nobody wants to listen. I’m so tired. I’ve had to fight to keep all my meds, including B12 jabs for pernicious anaemia (still in an ongoing battle to get them back to every 10 weeks, after fighting with a doc who knew nothing about PA and then lied to the haematology dept.. long story!) I’ve had to fight to keep Tramadol, fight to keep Sumatriptan. If either of those get taken away, that’s me done and that’s not being melodramatic. It’s how so many people feel because these things are just keeping them on the side of the living. It’s sickening what’s happening. Utterly sickening.
Rant over!
I hope you enjoyed your late lunch and that you have a gentle week ahead given how you’ve been feeling with the new meds. Have the side-effect symptoms eased a little yet? xxxx

Yesterday I started feeling better and today feels better so they must be getting out of my system. No chest pain for two days. David did most of the work of the tree, I helped with a few ornaments and cleaning the furniture of all the Christmas tree tinsels. Isn’t the PM responsible for the NHA? I don’t understand why the people get no vote, I guess that’s Socialism. I don’t understand it, somebody has to be responsible that will listen. This is crazy. Of course we have our problems too. Don’t let it get you wound up every day, try to save for your fights with doctors. It will eat at you and cause more pain. Soft hugs. 🙂
