Types of Slavery Today-No Hater Here

First and foremost, this is not a racist post, no hater here. We’re all one, it does not matter what the color of a person’s skin is. Travel around the world and you will find people who are from a different culture, do you hate this person right away? No.

Do you hate people before meeting them? You’re a lost cause. Hit the road, Jack.

I am a White 59-year-old housewife who loves learning about so many topics including World Religion. My Senior Year paper was on the Muslim Religion, Why? I don’t know. That discovery must be what sparked my interest in World Religion.

Today I was reading about the history of slavery. One question that’s been on my mind for years is why it took two years for Texas to receive the news. ( I’m a Texan ) Now, I better understand the hurdles and some of the politics involved. One big issue was Texas was not part of the United States yet and so the legal wrangling began.

Slavery takes on many forms today, like Human Trafficking, and Child slavery. Some forms are tied to religion or ideology, and that’s still an enslaved person.

Types of slavery today

  • Human trafficking. …
  • Forced labour. …
  • Debt bondage/bonded labour. …
  • Descent–based slavery (where people are born into slavery). …
  • Child slavery. …
  • Forced and early marriage. …
  • Domestic servitude.

Slavery is prevalent in America, and it’s hard to see. We have not spent enough money or time educating people about Human Trafficking. This is not another country’s issue to tackle, it’s America’s. Listen to one story from a survivor of Human Trafficking and you will hear the trauma in their voice. You will hear about the most atrocious acts, and you won’t forget about their story or feel their pain.

This is one of my favorite songs, One by Mary J Blige and U2. The message is simple, we are not the same but we’re one. We carry each other.
