My preference is to wake slowly and do some stretches before getting out of bed.

I start it in quiet where I can – often trying to meditate to set me off.

I have reached a couple of times but shutting the brain down. I work on it every night. So glad you can get that relaxed and in the moment. :)

The secret is to not try and shut the brain down, but to focus on your breath and let your thoughts float by without acting on them :-)

For me, not rushing and making sure have breakfast before I leave for work.

Coffee and breakfast is my top of the list. Taking your time to enjoy your breakfast without rushing is a perfect way to start the day. :)
