The Copyright For Looking For The Light Is On About Me Page

A few weeks ago a WordPress blogger reblogged a post and reposted it as if they wrote it. That raises the hair on my neck and I didn’t take it lightly. The blogger is a newbie so I wrote them to express my disapproval of my content being stolen. I also gave him the basic rules of Journalism and blogging, you don’t steal others’ work. I asked him to remove the post.

His response was swift, he didn’t apologize instead he told me that my negative comments would stop him from growing his blog. I don’t give a shit! Comply with the Copyright or don’t reblog.

I love it when people feel my posts are worth sharing with their community but will not tolerate anyone who steals my work. You need to be concerned as well.

How did I know he took credit for my work?

Every time a post is reblogged it will show up in the comments section. I make a habit of looking at the blog that reblogged, it might be a new site I want to follow.

When I looked at his site, I found out he had taken credit for my content.

I didn’t approve of reblogging but it happened anyway.

Don’t let this slide if you find yourself in the same situation. Hit back hard!

I’m sharing my Copyright so everyone who reads the About Me page will know.

    1. I smile and feel joy every time you comment! You are one cool cucumber! I would love to spend hours in your back yard talking about your professional life. I’m a natural caregiver but my mind was so full of junk growing up, it had me convinced I wasn’t smart enough to go to college. I love the Therapist, been seeing her for over 30 years and I can see me doing her job or something along the line. That what wisdom gives you. I do have the opportunity blogging and feel like I’ve helped many people over the years, it’s not the same as sitting ace to face. I admire you and so glad you let me bounce things off of you and you throw it back at me! That gives me time to think twice. I truly thankful. I don’t want my blog to feel negative, that’s the last thing I want but just like the ass that stole my content, there are times when you have to let it rip! Hugs. :)

    1. I’m about to take on this issue. Wp overhauled the reblogging process to prevent this from happening so would it make sense to give you the approval before it’s live on their system. Good question, how long to get answer another story. :)

          1. :) I can get so worked up, it’s a trait that is hard to control at times. I get over focused which makes me angry. It’s something I have to keep an eye on. I can get so worked up working with WP and that doesn’t need to happen. I’m giving up my joy with that anger. Have a great day.

  1. You’re right about the reblog procedures. Also I try not to ask the WP people for help, as they mostly just give links to stuff I don’t understand, and the problem never gets fixed.

    1. The difference in the plans is what you are able to do within the program. The advantage os being a paying member, which you don’t hav to do, if more support from WP and a host of options. Let me look at your site and see if I can provide any feedback. The key is to have a basic or strict Copyright in place. I’ll get back to you soon. I’m taking a look now. :)

    2. The first suggestion is to complete your About Me page that includes a Copyright. People like to read about you and why you blog to establish trust to follow you. I didn’t see any other issues off the top. Don’t hesitate to contact me with questions, I’ve been blogging since 2005. Good luck for great success on your blog.

    1. He harassed me again to ask me to remove comments which I will not do. If I wrote it I meant it. What I don’t understand about the reblogging process is why WP allows the reblog to happen before I approve it. That’s a question for Wp and never be answered because they are terrible at support. If you don’t hound them, you will not get the support needed.
