Wordless Wednesday-Philadendrons

I’m glad you joined me on Wordless Wednesday and I hope to see you soon.

This one is called Philodredon Brasil, I love the two-tone leaves and the dash of yellow. It will eventually spread out with trails.

This one is called Philodendron Micans and is already spreading its limbs. It has lightly reddish, green, and line-green leaves. It looks perfect in the bunny planter.

Have a great day.

Melinda

  1. Philodendrons are such a good plant when they don’t get straggly. When I received my master’s degree, everyone got a piece of a philodendron that had been in the director’s office for many years. It was to help us feel connected. The tradition is beautiful and meaningful until our little extension of this connection to St. Mary of the Woods died.

    1. They are new to me and if I read right the are not for pets so I have mine out of reach. They are very nice but I can see how they can get eggy and may need a pole to wrap around. I didn’t know anything about St. Mary’s. That’s interesting.

  2. Beautiful. You actually encouraged me and we got our first plant at home. She is doing good so far. (It’s been 3 weeks now since we brought her home). I haven’t killed her yet, Thank God, so that’s a good thing.

    1. If you bought an ivy, they usually need watering one a week and can use a good fertilizer once in a while. The first three weeks it may be in shock which is normal after that it should start growing and they produce offshoots pretty quickly. They don’t need direct sun and like indirect sun, they don’t do well in low light. I’m glad you bought one. The clean the air naturally and they help my mental health.

      1. The plant is Calsthea Triostar. I think that’s the name of it. She loves me and misses me. During the daytime when I’m at work, her leaves are down, and at night when I’m home, her leaves are up as if she is happy I’m home. 😂. I know that’s not how the plant works but it’s true and that’s my story to tell and I’m sticking to it 😂😂.
