    1. I often don’t think of myself as retired because I quit work to take care of my granny, it’s not like I retired to enjoy all the time away from work. I logically know they are the same but when I have to fill out paperwork and write retired, I pause a second. Strange.

        1. I went from caring for granny until 2005, grieved, health issues started, was a caregiver to gramps until 2012, so it was just different than what I think retiring is like. I still miss aspects of work, the fulfillment but that’s out of the question. I like being retired. :)

          1. That is for sure! I’m having surgery on my hand on 12/2 and I have a feeling we are talking about a month recovery. The problem with that is I keep trying to do what I’m not suppose to do. It’s ingrained in me. I haven’t taken any opioids is over 5 years and I’m going to work hard to only take the bare minimum. I’m easily addicted to them.

          2. It’s been a long time since I or a family member was prescribed opiates, but every time, we were given twice as much we needed. I wonder if you could get half the Rx for starters. Prayers on the way for your strength and healing. With your conscientious attitude, I bet it will turn out well.

          3. The worst pain will come from him removing the plate in my wrist which was the result of breaking my wrist 6 years ago. Luckily I have a high pain tolerance and can often eventually fall asleep with pain so I can do that instead of taking strong pain meds.
