What’s Up With Me

I have been battling depression for several months. I have Treatment Resistant Biplor Disorder. What that means is many medications don’t work on me, or if they do, they stop working at some point. I have been dealing with this up and down since 1992.

One of the medications I started in the Spring, which was working wonders, stopped working. I’ve been working closely with my Psychiatrist to change doses, but nothing is working. He increased the dose today on one of my medications, and I’m always positive it will work. My fingers are crossed.

I’m sure you’ve noticed I have been posting less; I can’t wait to get back to myself.

If your medications stop working, don’t abandon your medications, call your doctor and get the attitude that the next drug will work. You can’t do it alone.

Melinda

  1. I’m sorry you’ve been having to deal with this and hope you feel better soon. I wonder if the medication that worked wonders might work again later. Prayers on the way! <3

    1. Liz, I can’t believe I haven’t ask you to participate in the Blogger Highlight series. It’s about fun, not all serious. What I do is taken some information about you from your site, pick my favorite post and ask you a couple of questions. Are you interested? :)

      1. You did ask me in an email last year which I said yes to. But I heard nothing more when you said it would be a few months with some others already scheduled ahead. ☺️

          1. Ok. Thank you. Yes. Been quite a journey.

Give me time to reply though. I tripped over yesterday and I have knocked myself up. I have not long come back from A&E after getting myself checked out and now I am home icing and resting my joints.

          2. I have answered the questions now, with me blogging break next week and not knowing how I will be tomorrow.

How has blogging changed your life?

I have been blogging for much longer than the years, writing my current blog. But it’s always served the same purpose:

            • Being therapeutic
            • For keeping in touch with friends near and far.
            • And the wonderful community here on WordPress

What is your favorite post and why?

My favourite post is a hard one to pick. But I think my favourite post is one I wrote this year, “What makes you feel good?” This one is my favourite post because it serves as a reminder to me what things I need to keep doing that make me feel good both physically and mentally, along with my other physical exercises I do that I have mentioned in other posts.

            What makes you feel good?

          3. To add further on cochlear implant. As you will see from link left in comment before, where you will find all my posts on my cochlear implant journey, it is just one cochlear implant I will be having, if it still goes ahead. ☺️

  2. I’m sorry to hear about your depression, Melinda. I just left a meeting with the functional medicine doctor and we talked about the benefits of red light and how blue light is toxic. Do you know about this? What are your thoughts?

          1. Thank you, Melinda. May 13 is the anniversary of the first Marian apparition in Fatima, Portugal. It is a big month to celebrate her. Not that I’m saying to wait that long. I appreciate you, my friend.
