We eat in the living room vs the dining table most of the time. Our recliners have desk attached we can eat on it.
Long gone are the days of cooking every possible item for the holidays.
Only cooking on Thanksgiving and Christmas. The eve’s are spent eating a meal that includes, hard meats, several cheeses, olives, crackers and deserts of course. It’s a simple way to have a special meal without cooking.
Eating at 5:00 PM everyday.

My dad used to eat tv dinners in his recliner, when I was young. But we also ate at the table some, and always on Sundays. David and I eat at the table most of the time. Just make sure you’re watching something pleasant while you eat.

I would not call watching the news pleasant but we do have to stay informed. We have these cool leather reclines from Sweden that has a small desk attached, you can have it up or tuck it away. One place I won’t eat is while driving. :)

No more sitting at a dining table for me either. I sit in my living room too for meals.

It’s a shift for many. I grew up eating at the table everyday at 5:00pm, only exception was for work. Gowing up and society today has it’s ups and downs. :)

Yes. Certainly a shift.
With me living on my own and only cooking for me and no one else forr years, I use my small table as a desk. I took the leafs off and got rid of those. Kept one dining chair to sit at desk and recently got rid of the other chair with not using that in for years.

This prompt has had many answers, but so far, not eating at the table rules.
