Welcome to #WATWB # 22! We are sharing stories about people doing good work and bringing hope to the world.  To learn more about this monthly blogfest, visit

I saw Kevin Laue on television with a group of kids playing basketball. It was amazing to see the faces, looks of children feeling like they belonged for the first time. He is very upbeat and is making a difference in our youth across the country.

Believe in you Tour

Our mission is for every student in America to have someone who believes in them. That’s why we’ve created the Believe In You Challenge. The Challenge is for students to attend a school activity they never have before. Swim meets. Track meets. Plays. Choir concerts. Pick it, grab your friends, and go. Show each other that support! Share your acceptance of this Challenge using hashtag #BelieveInYouChallenge. If not you, then who?

  1. Keep your post to below 500 words.
  2. All we ask is you link to a human news story on your blog on the last Friday of each month, one that shows love and humanity.
  3. Join us in sharing news that warms the cockles of our heart. No story is too big or small, as long as it goes beyond religion and politics, into the core of humanity.
  4. Place the WE ARE THE WORLD BLOGFEST Badge on your sidebar, and help us spread the word on social media. Tweets, Facebook shares, G+ shares using the #WATWB hashtag through the month most welcome. More We Are the World Blogfest signups mean more friends, love and light for all of us.
  5. We’ll read and comment on each others’ posts, get to know each other better, and hopefully, make or renew some friendships with everyone who signs on as participants in the coming months.
  6. Add your post HERE so we can all find it quickly.

  1. Hi Melinda – he’s certainly open doors to many kids and their family’s lives … so they can grow and help others. Kevin Laue has learnt so much … and overcome so much – his story is incredible … and now he’s helping lots of others – loved reading about him … and hope one day to see the film/s on his life. Thanks so much – great #WAWTB post – cheers Hilary

    1. You can watch many of his videos on YouTube, they are quite amazing. The way kids from all backgrounds relate to him and suddenly you see this smile come across their face. They feel like they belong and many may not have felt that way before. He is an amazing man. Thank you for taking the time to comment. Have a great day, Hilary.

    1. He’s a remarkable man, he motivated me to not get so down on myself, stop looking at the outside and look at what’s on the inside. It worked for a couple of days. I’m so hard on myself. I hope the attic is uncovering treasures! 🙂

          1. It seems like our Wilmington house will be finished close to the time I’ll be done with my parents’ house. Getting ready to start moving stuff back over the next few weeks. I will probably cry when I sell their house, but I’m trying to remember that I’m carrying a lot of the memories that were inside the house with me.

          2. I took photos of special places from childhood, you always have the memories and nothing can take them away. Maybe you could write a journal of all the experiences and treasures you found, if you haven’t already. Have a great evening.
