What do you think of this Wig?

I shaved my head several weeks ago because bathing is to painful without having to wash and dry my hair. Fibromyalgia takes everything out of you on a daily basis even on a good day. On a bad day you don’t want to move. This isn’t the first time I’ve shaved my hair in the past seven years, it makes life easier.

I’m a laid back person and usually wear a ball cap no matter how good my hair looks but tomorrow is different. I don’t really know why but I feel it’s better to wear my wig. I don’t know if the need is for me or for the doctor and being in public for half a day.

I have several small tumors on my Thyroid, Parathyroid and larger tumor in my throat. I’m meeting with one of the most respected Endocrinology Surgeons in the area. Why it matters I don’t know, it’s not like the wig will make a difference in the outcome.

My normal hairstyle is similar to this with shorter bangs, what do you think? Does it look natural or natural enough?

I appreciate your comments.

  1. It looks good and totally natural. If it helps take some of the pain away and helps you feel good then it’s worth it. And while the wig may not make a difference at the appointment or with medical treatment, if it eases pain, then healing from the tumors will be made easier since you’ll have one less thing to deal with. Good luck with the tumor issue!

    1. Thank you for the kind words, the feedback has been very positive on the wig. I even changed my Gravater to that photo. It did make a difference, it was the first time out of the house for half a day, I felt beautiful and self confident. I stopped when I wrote beautiful because that’s not a word I’ve ever used about myself. I know my heart is beautiful and that is what people see the most in me. Have a great day. 🙂

  2. I like the wig with all the natural looking highlights. I’m glad you’re moving along through the medical challenges. It seems like they’re doing more and more surgeries outpatient these days. You’ll be more comfortable sleeping at home I would imagine. Continuing prayers for your healing. ❤

    1. Thank you for the comment on my wig. It did make a difference for me. We are proceeding with surgery but she hasn’t mentioned any complications so we roll on. None of the test loaded on their computer so I’m having an ultrasound towmorrow and we’ll see if she wants to do another CT. She thinks Lithuim, a medicine I’ve taken for decades caused the problem. Lithium is the foundation of my depression medications and over time it can cause many problems. I can’t worry about, life without it would spiral very quickly.
On a lighter note, you’re too good at SoSC, I loved last weeks switch a roo!!!!!! 🙂

      1. You are right not to worry about the problems that may never come from Lithium which has helped so much. Though I do wish there could be something that works as well without the risk. It sounds like you are in good hands with your doctor and of course, God who loves you deeply. I’m glad you loved my senior center post. I seem to be addicted to SoCS. 😉

  3. I’m so sorry I’m a bit behind on blogs at the moment so I’m only just reading this. How did it go with the surgical meeting? I can appreciate why your hair was important, for me I’d want a little more control, to feel a bit more ‘together’ and on top of things. As for the wig, wow, it looks amazing! I didn’t think that was a wig at all, so yes, definitely looks natural! Beautiful! xxxx

    1. Thank you for the kind words, the wig did make a difference in my mood, I somehow felt less sick. It is more blond than I like so I’m buying a new one. I don’t plan on stopping shaving me head. My husband is totally cool with whatever makes me feel better. The appt. went as expected, I’m having surgery to remove all four Parathyroids. I will know in the next week or so on the date. It’s a complex surgery but still outpatient. They cut your neck open. Yuck! 🙂

      1. I think it’s great you’re going to continue shaving your head & definitely get yourself a new wig if you want it a little less blond (even though I think this one looks fab nonetheless) because you need to do what works for you & what makes you feel better 🙂

Re: the op.. Yikes, and that’s an outpatient appointment? I’m really surprised by that, I would have thought you’d at least spend one night there. Would it be general/full anaesthetic? xx

          1. I must have reblogged a post to my site, they read the post and like it. From there they went to your site. Your not going to see a link since the blog takes them back to your page. Does that make sense. You didn’t miss anything.
