The 2020 presidential election will take place on November 3. That’s exactly one year from today. Do you know who you will be voting for?

It isn’t easy being the president of any organization. I discovered this years ago, when I was elected president of my nursing school class. I was so honored by the surprise nomination. But before I knew it, I had become the target of everyone’s discontent, about everything. There is a surprising amount of discontent among students of nursing.

A similar thing happened when I was nominated and elected president of a small church board. I quickly discovered why I had been chosen: no one else wanted the thankless job.

My late uncle was named President Emeritus of a college, after having served for nearly ten years as the active college president. This is a Christian college, so the level of animosity he encountered was surprising…
