My Thoughts On Isreali & Hamas War

I know this is a sensitive discussion and some may be offended. My point is to discuss what war looks like and the horrific toll it takes on its citizens. I write this from a neutral position and am not pointing any fingers.

One of the reasons for the post is I see young people on TV, in America and abroad who do not understand how war works and how it has played out in history. Their creative ideas on how war should look are totally naive.

I do not know the story of how Israel was given land after WWII or how Palestine was given land in the Gaza Strip. It wasn’t on my radar until I was older and saw the commitment to Israel from America, again unclear how that relationship formed.

What I’ve seen is fighting and attacking each other for longer than I’ve been alive. My guess is it has been a hotbed since the beginning of the territory.

I became deeply concerned for both countries when the terrorist group Hamas took over governing Palestine. I knew what would happen with a terrorist group in charge.

I am familiar with wars around the world from the past and war tactics have not changed, except technology. Once a war is initiated it continues until one side succeeds or one raises a white flag. There are no cease-fires, no concern for humanitarian aid, and no concern for the number of dead. The mission of any government/military is to keep moving forward until the war ends.

The reason cease-fires and humanitarian aid have happened is that other countries have been in negotiations to push for these efforts. Did you know Qutar is involved in negotiating for the release of hostages? I didn’t until this week.

The fact that America supports Israel is no different than supporting Tiawian against China’s aggression. This is not America’s war and our government will not end this war. Israel and Palestine are responsible for the war and both countries will determine the outcome.

Immigrants in America have the privilege of Free-Speech which allows for peaceful protest but does not tolerate violence for which there has been a huge uptick since the war began. There is no excuse for violence and anyone who uses these tactics will be treated as any other criminal. If you feel such hatred and a need for violence you need to go to your home country and fight!

News Outlets show the same video each night with the same commentary until the commentary changes but the videos do not. This is clearly stabbing the hearts that are already broken. The outrageous reason is News Outlets are focused on views and making money. It’s disgusting and people need to be outraged and then you have misinformation on Social Media which flames the fire.

It breaks my heart to see the suffering and the number of deaths but realize that is the outcome of war.

I welcome all comments but know that comments filled with hate or threats will not be published, permanently deleted and your site blocked from my blog.

  1. The problem with this is everyone has an opinion or strong/volatile views on it, even though most of them don’t know really anything about it.
And they take to the socials and fight with others about it, and then spew their vitriolic comments even further.
It’s ok to feel sad & mad about it. It’s heartbreaking to see and hear about this kind of thing. It makes me want to go over there and just **bleep** but I can’t.
We certainly can aid them, but this fighting in the Gaza Strip has been going on for longer than most of my family line has been alive.
I hope it stops one day; I really do.

    1. I agree. I’m 60 and the conflict has been going on longer than that. I pray the conflict ends but do not have confidence. The hatred is passed from generations and each new generation is taught hatred. I don’t claim to know the history, I don’t, all I know is what I see which is honestly controlled by the media. What I do know is war is war and the citizens pay the ultimate price. I do not see a change in the future unless a miracle happens. Today Hamas refused another cease fire unless it’s a permanent one. That is not going to happen, this is war not a chess game. We can hope. :)
