You’re the second person to mention the book and I have to admit I haven’t read it. The other person went to Amazon UK and the book took 6 months to arrive, sounds like a long time to me. It’s right in front of me so it’s time to check it out. Thanks for stoppong by my blog. :)
To funny! I actually don’t read books anymore, between my health and arthritis holding a book for a long time hurts. I did get into listening to books for a while but haven’t in several years. Now that I’m feeling better, who knows.
That Zen Camera book sparked my interest there. Have had a little look on Amazon UK but it says 6-7 months for delivery! Most of the books I have are jewellery making ones plus a few on making the most of your life by being mindful and exploring the World. I had a huge purge of my books a few months ago and I was really quite ruthless.
I’ve been ruthless in the past and not have a few regrets. I made jewelry for years, it’s so creative and helps my mental health. I wore most of my jewelry and gave some as gifts. I remember always being on the look out for a special statement piece or a great deal on beads. I gave all my items to charity a couple of years ago, my hands hurt to bad to make jewelry anymore. Thanks for commenting and have a great day.
It’s a shame you can no longer make jewellery but I guess that the mental health benefits were related to it being a mindful activity and there are plenty of other mindful crafts and activities which could help. I find doing jigsaws really puts me in the zone and apart from the occasional bit of back pain from leaning over, it doesn’t tend to cause too many problems. What about you? Do you do an alternative activity which helps now?
I have a lot of theological reference books from class studies for my degree. I used to use them often but now look things up on line more than in my books.
That make sense. I have many very old books that were passed down to me but I have to keep them in archival paper and boxes. Some are not in the best of share but they are magical books by some of the greats. I have another collection in a cannet in the hall that are around 50-75 years old, some poerty, by some of the masters and others on topics from around Texas. A woman years ago agve them to me and they have greased my bookshelves since. I find great confort just being around books. Although I have trouble reading them, I still lke to sit in the floor with them laying at my feet, just thinking for all the knowlege in the words. I have mt Grannies old Big Bible but it’s stored away, whith all the cards and what she had in it at the time. It the only Bible I’ve seen that dscussses the 400 years between the old and new testament. It’s a remarkable bible and Granny read it every day. I also have a bibble I was given at 5 years old by my mother. :)
Books like that are friends, and you have many good ones. I know why they mean so much to you, Melinda. Nothing like the smell, the feel of those kind of books.
They are the fabric, I was given many rare books by my Gramps sister and I cherish them. Most of those are over a 120 years old and how can I ever forget Granny’s Bible sitting on the coffee table until Gramps died. I haven’t taken them out in years but it would be great fun to put of some gloves and look thru them.
I like women’s daily meditations, Aesops fables, and there is this really neat and cute little book that I recently discovered called, The Zen Monkey And The Lotus Flower(52 stories that will change your life), by Tenpa Yeshe that I’m absolutely in love with.
I like to read thrillers, memoirs, stories about overcoming, animals, and self help books!

Indoor and outdoor plants and birdwatching.

I love birdwatching too. And I love my plants, just not the weeds that pop up all over our garden!

Boy, I have plenty of weeds to pull. It’s an ongoing battle.
