Throw Back Thursday *Special thanks to Sheldon for suggestions* Get down tonight!

I think you’ll enjoy this weeks music selection. The comment Hotline is always open for suggestions. Flying during the holidays makes me anxious. Bose Noise Cancelling headphones come in handy.

Enjoy the quality time with friends and family.   Be Safe.   Xx  M

TOYS FOR TOTS CHARITY RUN

Yes, that’s a Corona at 9:00 AM, Santa doesn’t seem to mind. It’s an incredible feeling riding down the freeway with up to 1,000 bikes. People are standing on bridges as you pull into Arlington, Texas. They’re holding signs, American Flags and waving. Whole families on bridge after bridge. Helping the Marines Toys of Tots program is deeply rewarding and tons of fun.

Wishing everyone around the world a safe Holiday and peace for all.  Xx M

In 24 hours 29,520 people became victims of domestic violence or sexual assault..20 people a minute by someone they know!

JOYFUL HEART FOUNDATION

Dear Friend,

In the 24 hours since I emailed you, 29,520 people became victims of domestic violence or sexual assault.
The statistics are staggering:

Every minute, 20 people are physically abused by an intimate partner.

Every two minutes, someone is sexually assaulted.

One in three women experience sexual or physical violence in their lives.

One in four girls and one in six boys are sexually abused or assaulted before their 18th birthdays.

This violence is preventable. And healing is possible.

Yesterday, I wrote to you about Joyful Heart’s signature retreat programs and the work we are doing to make this healing experience available to even more survivors.

Can you help us? Your gift today will guarantee that more survivors benefit from Joyful Heart’s retreats—and take the next step in their healing journey.

29,520 people in the past 24 hours. 20 people in the minute it took you to read this note. You can help change it today.

Please, give what you can.

With gratitude,
Maile Zambuto
Chief Executive Officer

Hilarious Poop Story Dedicated To My Twin P *Dotedon.wp.com*

Cute smiling little girl

It’s time to share with my WP family how stubborn I can be. I was an innocent child of six years old playing on jungle gym, all things kids do at recess.

I felt a growl in my stomach but the jungle gym was more fun. Another growl, I better tell the teacher I have to potty. She looked at me rather stern, NO! Go back and play.

I went back as instructed and tried to hang on. I had my favorite purple polyester suite with elephants on it. Not wanting to get it dirty, I wondered around watching my friends. GROWL.

Going back to teacher, again she said NO! I pleaded with her. “If I don’t go inside I will poop my pants right here.” She didn’t know I was a kid that meant business. I stood right in her face and pooped my pants.

The look in her eyes. “You pooped your pants”, I told you. Off to the Principles office, she called my mother to come get me. She came about three hours later. I had the pleasure of sitting in poop on a bench outside her office. My classmates had a good laugh, my mother did not.

I sure missed my purple pant suit. Let’s just say it was beyond repair!

Have a great weekend.

Throw Back Thursday *Get on the floor, Let’s Party*

I am so excited with the suggestions this week. Sheldon gets a surprise with Donna Summer and Gavin likes Janet Jackson. I had the privilege of watching Easy Rider again and can’t quit singing Born to be Wild. I don’t know Peter Fonda rides a chopper, I couldn’t master a chopped bicycle.  XO  M

Throw Back Thursday *Best Tunes And They Came From You*

black-heart-with-floral-ornament_GJ1y2tdu_L-2

Continue sending request, now we’re having fun.

As a child I believed music could change feelings, like pump you up or knock you down. We’ve all had rocks thrown at us while we walk forward. There is no way around, doing the time is essential for growth. I’ve  had a rough life, music loved me when no one would. On shitty days I would rush home, hide in my closet with my radio and pray no one found me.

(Sounds so depressing after reading. Sorry, no downer here!)

I’m thrilled for the request. Getting to know each other and surprising each with a song.

Coffee Grounded asked for Annie Lennox and sent the link for the version. I’m so glad she shared this version, what a song it is. Bringing tears to my eyes. She is a genius.

Casey Alexander  jumped in with one of my #1 songs. Lord knows “I’m no Angel”.  Greg Allman

Carol King “You’ve got a Friend” rips at my heart, good and bad.

My friend Gavin had an awesome request, the video didn’t meet my standards. We’ll see Gavin’s next week.

Hope everyone enjoyed the tunes.

Happy Birthday Gramps, Thank you for the lessons you instilled in me

A few sayings Gramps used to teach me about life

If you’re going to be late for work, no need to go in. Always be on time.

Nothing good happens after 9:00 PM. If he can’t be here by then, you’re not going.

No phones calls after 9:00 PM.

You will be home by curfew, if you can’t I better get a phone call.

You’re accountable for yourself.

There are no free rides.

Be honest, you will only have to tell one story.

You can do anything you want. If you want to be Miss America, you can.

Every boyfriend had to meet gramps.

Respect yourself and others.

Happy Birthday, see you soon. I think of gramps everyday. One of our last memories was trying to feed you left-handed. We laughed so hard. He wished everyone left this life happy, great memories and someone to look forward seeing. Gramps looked forward to hugging granny. You and granny changed my life, saved my life and gave me the best life.

XO  Melinda

I am thrilled to accept the Respect Award from Robert at Robert Goldstein

I am thrilled Robert chose me for The Respect Award. If we don’t have respect what do we have?

Robert works hard advocating for mental illness services. He also fights hard for complete access for mental illness services. He is an amazing artist, Robert writes informative and beautiful stories. I love when his post include artwork. Pull up a chair and dig in, you may find a new friend and someone to follow.

Robert has Dissociative Identity Disorder. I’m proud he is completely open about his mental illness and how he’s open to helping others.

Robert describes what his site is about. “I’m a writer and amateur photographer who lives in San Francisco. I enjoy good conversation, history, technology and learning new skills. I have strong political views, a lifelong interest in literature, poetry, and social justice. I think I’ve finally found a format for this blog that I can live with. It evolves as I learn.

Thank you Robert  :) You’ve made my day.

Rules for award

Recipients don’t have to do anything for this award. They can choose to copy the award art created by Robert and pass it on to people who have earned their respect — or they can do nothing. The only requirement has already been met when the award is given: Being someone worthy of respect.

I have tremendous respect for so many, you’re not forgotten in this award.

I pass the award along to Coffee Grounded and Hyperion Sturm. http:www.coffeegrounded.wordpress.com

Gramps, you have been my Hero since birth *I love you and think of you everyday*

Served in WWII
Served in WWII

He was proud to serve and saved many items from his time in service. He was not known for organization, I found his Bronze Star in tool box. He was a humble man and said everyone received the medal, that is not the case.

Miss you everyday

Brief Lyme Update #14 *Lyme-tough Me-still have fight in me*

457-1_edited-1

I had surgery for a Port, it is required for IV Treatment. I choose IV Therapy because it has a record of healing faster. I can tell already a Port for 9-12 months is no merry-go-round. The surgical area’s not bad. I fell breaking my arm or it was run over by a monster truck before the trip.

The procedure is short, it takes longer to prep than do surgery. A catheter goes into small section of heart, then is brought thru skin to take medicine thru tubing hanging down with blue top. Doctors do the procedure differently. The bandaging stays the entire time and is changed once a week.

This is my basic regimen for those who don’t understand the horrible effects of Lyme IV Therapy. In a future post, I’ll talk about cost of treatment. If you would like to know more leave me a comment, or read all 13 of my Lyme post.  All ticks can carry Lyme, ticks the size of sesame seed to seed of rice. P.S. mosquitoes and flies can also carry Lyme. The best revenge is sunscreen with 20% DEET. If out hiking in pants tuck into socks. Wear light-colored clothes and search like crazy once home, think of a tick that small in your hair.

Basic Regime

Five Supplements (everyday)

Seven RX pills  (everyday)

10mg Morphine patch (one a week)

M,W& F  Antibiotic Drip 2 times day with 2 shots Heparin

All other days, two bags of lactose for detox with shot of Heparin

Each drip takes about an hour

Blood Test once a week

Fly out-of-state once a month for doctor’s appointment

You can not get bandage wet, sticky saran wrap over bandage, you can shower. If you can do magic tricks.

I hope seeing a photo and reading the post will help put the two together.

XO  M
